Christians vs. Mental Health

“Am I still a Christian even though I still struggle with my mental health?”

Yes.

I’m sure you’ve heard a fellow brother or sister in Christ tell you that once you accept Jesus,

You should no longer be struggling with things like depression, anxiety or dark thoughts.

While I do believe many people misdiagnose something like depression; it is clearly still prevalent in the body of Christ.

So what should we do?

Rely on what the word of God says.

The Bible doesn’t say you will no longer face hardships or awful times in this life.

In fact, the Apostle James said,

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” ‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This doesn’t mean you need to jump for joy when your car breaks down.

It means we ought to glorify God amidst our suffering.

And to continue to trust Him no matter what circumstance we find ourselves in.

If you’re struggling, you are not alone.

God hears you.

Stand firm in his word and ask him to help you carry your burdens. He will gladly do it.

Blessings,

MTH
