Who Are You?

“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.” ‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Today’s Devotional is all about being misunderstood.

“You’re crazy for believing in a God you can’t see.”

“You’re weird for not having a bunch of friends.”

“You’re weird for not wanting to hook up with total strangers.”

“You’re weird for wanting to spend time with God on a Friday night instead of going out to get drunk.”

“You’re deranged for spending time in your prayer closet and crying out to Jesus.”

“You’re dumb for reading your Bible while the rest of your family watches television.”

These are all lies form the world.

Lies from the enemy.

You are ONLY weird to people who don’t get it.

To people who are still carnally minded.

This isn’t to boost up your ego.

It’s to encourage you to keep the faith and get on fire for God despite the difficulty.

As followers of Christ, we’re meant to be misunderstood, ridiculed, laughed at, and persecuted.

The key is to never let the world gaslight you into thinking you aren’t headed in the right direction.

Instead, turn form the world and strive toward God (as fast you can).

You’ll always be safe that way.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.” (‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Enjoy the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Blessings,

MTH
